You’re Not Insecure. You’re Unresolved.

The small-town mindset isn’t about gossip, it’s about the subconscious stories you never healed.
Growing up in a small town doesn’t feel small…
Until you realize there’s an entire world where conversations don’t revolve around who cheated, who gained weight, who relapsed, who failed, who’s “doing better,” or who should be ashamed.
Did you know people actually sit around and talk about ideas?
Growth. Healing. Neuroscience. Business. Purpose.
How to regulate your nervous system instead of regulating other people’s behavior.
There are 8 billion people on this planet.
Eight. Billion.
And yet we shrink ourselves because of the opinions of maybe 50.
Who cares what car you drive?
Who cares what kind of clothes you wear?
Who cares how much money you make?
Who cares if Betty down the street is allegedly cheating?
Who cares if Chelsey gained weight?
How does that actually affect your life?
It doesn’t.
But you know what does?
Living like it does.
Colorado Changed Me
When I took a solo trip to Colorado last year, something cracked open.
No one knew me.
No one knew my past.
No one knew the rumors.
No one knew the shame stories.
No one had a version of me stored in their memory from 10 or 20 years ago.
There was no reputation to defend.
No identity to perform.
No narrative to correct.
Just me.
And it forced me to experience authenticity in a way I never had before.
I realized how much energy I had spent trying to outrun, overcompensate for, or defend against a past that other people still held onto, but I had already outgrown.
When no one knows your “story,” you get to decide who you are in real time.
And I liked her.
Yes. I Have Scars.
We all do.
Yes, I’ve done some shameful shit in my life.
So have you.
So has everyone.
Being human guarantees mistakes.
But here’s the part small-minded thinking misses:
Your mistakes are data.
They are teachers.
They are catalysts.
They do not define you unless you refuse to grow from them.
Learning from your mess?
That’s the magic.
That’s what transforms regret into power.
That’s what turns shame into empathy.
That’s what builds compassion instead of bitterness.
The Nervous System Piece (Because Yes, It Matters)
I talk a lot about nervous system regulation.
Not because it’s trendy.
Not because it sounds spiritual.
Not because it makes a cute Instagram reel.
But because when you’ve spent almost 30 years medicated for depression and anxiety, and then you finally learn how to sit still and listen to your body…
You realize most of your reactions were survival.
Stillness taught me presence.
Presence taught me safety.
Safety taught me that most of what we obsess over... gossip, opinions, reputation.... is just noise triggering an old nervous system pattern.
Dwelling on the past? That’s depression.
Obsessing about the future? That’s anxiety.
Presence?
That’s power.
The Rooms You Choose Matter
Competition isn’t bad.
Competition that grows you? Good.
Competition that challenges you? Good.
Competition that makes you better? Good.
But if it makes you envious, jealous, bitter, or small, that’s not growth. That’s insecurity talking.
Get in rooms where:
People care about evolution.
People own their scars.
People are curious about what you’ve grown from.
People talk about ideas more than other people.
That changes your entire trajectory.
You don’t have to move out of a small town to outgrow a small-town mindset.
But you do have to decide:
I am not living small anymore.
Not because of rumors.
Not because of shame.
Not because someone still sees me as the version of myself I’ve already healed.
There are 8 billion people on this planet.
And the only opinion that has to sit with you at night…
Is your own.
The Part We Don’t Talk About
Here’s what most people don’t realize:
The reason gossip hits.
The reason competition triggers.
The reason insecurity lingers.
Isn’t because of the current moment.
It’s because of what’s stored underneath it.
Stuff gets stored in our subconscious mind.
Moments.
Embarrassments.
Humiliations.
Rejections.
Like being in third grade and having your teacher make a fool out of you in front of the entire class.
Yes. That happened to me.
You don’t consciously think about that moment every day.
But your nervous system remembers.
Your subconscious remembers.
And if that moment created a belief like:
“I’m not smart.”
“I always mess things up.”
“I’m embarrassing.”
“I never do anything right.”
You’ll unconsciously live from that script.
That’s how insecurity forms.
Not from today.
From something unresolved years ago.
This Is Where the Real Healing Happens
You can journal about it.
You can talk about it.
You can intellectually understand it.
But until you reach the subconscious layer where that belief was formed…
You’re just managing symptoms.
That’s why I do hypnotherapy.
Not to “control” your mind.
Not to make you relive trauma.
Not to make you weird or unconscious.
But to safely access the root.
To find the original imprint.
To neutralize the charge.
To update the belief.
So you’re not reacting to third grade while you’re 43.
So you’re not shrinking because someone might be talking.
So you’re not building your identity around rumors or old shame stories.
Healing the root changes everything.
You don’t have to move away to outgrow a small-town mindset.
But you do have to be willing to outgrow the subconscious stories that keep you tied to it.
If you’re tired of reacting to noise…If you’re tired of insecurity running the show…If you’re ready to understand where it actually started…
That’s the work I do.
And it’s not only powerful, it's transformational and it worked for me better than any anti-depressant or anti-anxiety did. And it's a lot faster than other modalities. One long-cited review of therapeutic outcomes found that hypnotherapy achieved up to a ~93% success rate after an average of just six sessions, compared with 38% success after hundreds of psychoanalysis sessions and 72% success after about 22 behavior-therapy sessions — suggesting hypnotherapy can be both faster and more effective for many people.
Why does this matter?
Because most therapeutic talk never reaches the part of the mind where long-held beliefs about worth, shame, identity, fear of judgment, actually live.
Hypnotherapy gives us a direct highway to that subconscious core so we can re-write the beliefs that are keeping you small, instead of just managing the symptoms those beliefs create.
I am incredibly passionate about what I do. That's why I am offering a 25% discount of your first hypnotherapy session when you mention this blog post.
